The people who celebrate Kirk’s death, the ideological left, are evil. They aim to undermine the Bill of Rights, Christianity, Judaism, and Western Civilization. That is why Charlie Kirk was killed – and why we must stand now. We cannot let those forces silence us. Knowing we must do this is an epiphany for some. But let us gather our strength on Charlie’s example, and take the torch forward.

The national ACLU and Maine ACLU are making another crazy argument, imagine that? They have literally, on film and in writing, begun to argue that “illegal aliens” are not “illegal,” and so they should not be apprehended by ICE or any State government, nor deported. Really?

President Trump slammed the door on illegal immigration – and fentanyl trafficking – at our southern border, something never done before. The flipside is that northern states, like Maine, must be ready.

Sometimes, something stops you, pulls you aside, and you do not know why. On October 3, four years ago, Jerry Adler was buried at age 90, grateful to the end. Jerry was a B-52 navigator. His friend, Dan Bulli, was a B-52 pilot. Dan predeceased Jerry at age 94. These two patriots remind us of what matters, risks taken for America, and how blessed life is. Having spent the better part of a week along Maine’s 611-mile Northern Border, connecting with law enforcement near crossings, my essential readout is that deterrence matters, law enforcement needs our support, officers seldom complain, but without their courage and commitment, we would be overrun.

On the campaign trail, you encounter all kinds. Some – the majority – lift your heart, encourage you to “fight the good fight,” let you know your values are theirs, that they are working for you, believe in you, are counting on you. That is heartening. On the other side are those…of whom the poet warns.

Bottom line: Drug and human trafficking, plus flow-down crime, are tied to illegal immigration. Public safety is a priority. Illegals victimize Blue State citizens, including Mainers. We need to get them out. To do that, we need new leadership.
