Never Trump Jonathan Bush and his desperate campaign, which has already outspent Bobby Charles more than 20-to-1 but still trails Charles’ insurgent conservative, pro-Trump movement by double digits, are now resorting to fake news-style headlines disguised as legitimate reporting in an attempt to deceive Republican primary voters across Maine.

Even Steve Robinson, editor-in-chief of The Maine Wire, publicly condemned the tactic last night, writing:

“This is a new one on me… In case it’s not obvious, the Bush camp is trying to trick GOP voters by using the Maine Wire logo and some deceptive language. A variation of the affinity scam.”

Navy intelligence officer, crime fighter, and GOP frontrunner Bobby Charles responded:

“Here are the facts about Jonathan Bush. He admitted to assaulting his ex-wife. He spent money he made off abortion providers funding attacks and lies against President Trump. He openly schemed to use ranked-choice voting to deny our conservative movement the Republican nomination. And now, in the closing days of this race, his campaign is sending deceptive fake-news headlines to Republican voters because he knows he is losing. Jonathan Bush’s actions are disqualifying.”

Charles continued:

“Conservatives in Maine should reject these deceptive, entitled Never Trump politics once and for all. Maine deserves leaders with integrity, not desperate smear campaigns and dishonest political tricks.”

Vote now through June 9.
