Today, as NEVER-TRUMPER JONATHAN BUSH enters the race for Maine Governor, I encourage conservative Mainers to look at the facts, which show that Bush’s record is a nonstop parade of betrayal of President Trump and the Republican Party:
- Back in 2016, Bush called Trump “clinically narcissistic” and flat-out said he wouldn't vote for him if his life depended on it.
- Bush labeled Trump a “whackjob” on national TV.
- In October 2020, as part of his anti-Trump spending spree, Jonathan Bush donated to The Lincoln Project, the left-wing super PAC that spent millions attacking President Trump and helping elect Joe Biden.
- Bush voted for open-border liberal Gary Johnson instead of the Republican nominee, saying crudely, “If you can’t stand the nut on the left, and you can’t stand the nut on the right, go for the Johnson.”
- Bush even donated $100,000 to his cousin Jeb’s super PAC to stop Trump in the primaries, then funneled support to John Kasich and anyone else who wasn’t Trump.
- Bush gave thousands to Democrat Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign.
- Fast forward to 2023-2024, and Bush is co-founding “Independents Moving the Needle,” a super PAC that dumped over $500,000 into propping up Nikki Haley just to block Trump from the nomination.
Maine is in peril. Our state faces unparalleled chaos thanks to Augusta Democrats, and now has the chance to elect a conservative Governor who will cut crime, cut taxes and end Augusta Democrats’ nonsense. We cannot waste this once-in-a-generation opportunity to fix Maine on a divisive, Never-Trump elitist whose entire political identity is built on a hatred for the leader who delivered record jobs, border security, and America First policies.
