AUGUSTA, ME: “Tim Walz didn’t choose to stop running for reelection. He was forced out by one of the biggest corruption scandals in American history. Federal prosecutors estimate $9 billion was stolen from programs meant to feed children and care for the most vulnerable. Walz knew about it, had the authority to stop it, and did nothing while whistleblowers were retaliated against. Now Maine Democrats are honoring him with a keynote speech. It is shameful, and Nirav Shah should say so.”
Charles is calling on Shah to publicly reject Walz’s May 1 appearance at the Maine Democratic Party Victory Banquet and demand it be canceled.
“The Maine Democrats under Janet Mills aren’t even trying to hide the fact that they are looking at Walz’s fraud and saying, ‘Here, hold my beer,’ while they run their own corrupt Somali-related scandals. Mainers are suffering from high prices. Meanwhile, Mills and Shah are running a mess with taxpayer dollars, funding no-bid contracts and corrupt organizations. As governor, it ends on day one.”
