Bobby Charles Wins Final Maine Chamber GOP Debate
PORTLAND, Maine — Republican gubernatorial candidate Bobby Charles delivered a strong performance in the final Maine Chamber of Commerce GOP debate, outlining a bold conservative vision to cut taxes, investigate fraud, restore accountability, and grow Maine’s economy.
Charles called for cutting waste, fraud, and abuse in state government, phasing out the income tax, reducing regulations on small businesses and child care providers, and addressing Maine’s housing crisis by rolling back mandates, reforming permitting and zoning, bringing trades back into schools, incentivizing modular housing, and prioritizing Maine citizens first.
“Maine families are tired of higher taxes, rising costs, and political excuses,” said Charles. “We need bold conservative leadership that puts Maine people first again.”
Throughout the debate, Charles emphasized his background as a crime-fighter, Naval intelligence officer, and federal investigator while contrasting his vision with what he called the failed policies of the Mills administration.
Voting has now begun across Maine, and Charles is asking voters who want to turn the page on the Mills administration to support a proven conservative reformer focused on safety, affordability, and accountability.
“If you want lower taxes, safer communities, and honest government, I’m asking for your vote,” Charles said.
Cut crime. Cut taxes. No nonsense.
