AUGUSTA, ME — Apollo 11 astronaut and American hero Buzz Aldrin has officially endorsed Bobby Charles for Governor of Maine, praising Charles’ record of military service, mission-first mindset, and decisive leadership in times of national and state crisis.

“A half-century ago, it was an honor to serve my country in the effort to put a human being on the Moon. I’ve spent the decades since advocating for mission-driven leadership—whether in space, in service, or in public life. I believe Bobby Charles reflects that spirit,” Aldrin said.

Charles, a lifelong Mainer, crimefighter, and post-9/11 Naval Intelligence Officer, has led global counter-narcotics missions and now seeks to bring order and strength back to Maine.

“In moments that demand courage, clarity, and a steady hand—Bobby doesn’t blink,” Aldrin said. “I’ve watched men fold under pressure and others rise to meet it. Bobby rises. He’s served this country at home and abroad, and he’s stepping up again to serve Maine. I trust him to lead.”
