LEEDS, ME — Following reports that Governor Janet Mills has dropped her bid for the United States Senate, Republican gubernatorial candidate Robert “Bobby” Charles issued the following statement:
“Janet Mills isn’t stepping aside because things are going well—she’s stepping aside because her record caught up with her,” said Charles. “After years of failed leadership, rising costs, and declining public trust, the people of Maine were ready to hold her accountable.”
Under Janet Mills’ leadership, Maine has faced a series of serious challenges and controversies:
“Mainers have watched their state become less affordable, less safe, and less accountable under Janet Mills,” Charles continued. “You can’t spend years ignoring real problems, pandering to political extremes, and expect voters to reward you with another job.”
“Maine deserves better. We deserve leadership that will cut crime, cut taxes, restore accountability, and put Maine people first again.”
Bobby Charles is a crime fighter, naval intelligence officer, and former federal investigator. For more information, visit www.bobbyformaine.com
