Bobby Charles Campaign Surpasses Ballot Signature Requirement, Secures Place on Maine Governor’s Ballot

LEEDS, ME — FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The campaign of Bobby Charles announced today that it has officially surpassed the number of signatures required to qualify for the Maine gubernatorial ballot, marking a significant milestone in the race for governor.

Through a statewide grassroots effort, the campaign collected well over the 2,000 signatures required to appear on the ballot. The effort was powered entirely by volunteers, Mainers who knocked on doors, visited churches and local businesses, stood outside in winter conditions, and gave their time nights and weekends to ensure voters have a real choice this November.

“This milestone belongs to the volunteers,” said Charles. “They showed up in freezing weather, after long workdays, and away from their families because they believe Maine deserves better. That kind of commitment is humbling, and it says everything about the people behind this campaign.”

Charles noted that earning ballot access is about more than meeting a legal requirement; it reflects a growing, people-powered movement built on shared values and a desire to restore trust in state government.

“Being on the ballot means the voices and values of everyday Mainers will be on the ballot,” Charles said. “This campaign is being built the right way, from the ground up, by people who care deeply about this state and its future. I am profoundly grateful to every volunteer who helped make this happen.”

The campaign emphasized that the successful signature drive demonstrates both organizational strength and grassroots enthusiasm early in the race. With ballot access secured, the campaign will now intensify efforts to expand its volunteer base, grow grassroots fundraising, and continue building momentum across the state.

“This was a team effort, and it matters,” Charles added. “There is a lot of work ahead between now and November, but this milestone makes clear that Mainers are ready to engage, ready to lead, and ready to reclaim their state.”

The campaign credited volunteers from communities across Maine and reaffirmed its commitment to running a positive, serious, and solutions-focused campaign centered on accountability, integrity, and opportunity for all Mainers.
